I really don't think it needs saying that the Ferrari 458 Speciale is an exceptionally special car. That said, it's equally fair to say that certain examples were specified in ways that elevate them above the rest. This car, offered here for sale, is without question my favourite 458 Speciale I have ever had the pleasure of encountering.

Supplied new through Meridian Modena, this example was commissioned by a renowned collector, automotive publisher and titan of the UK music industry. The first owner retained the car until 2023, when it passed into the hands of another discerning collector with a passion for acquiring only the very best examples of their kind. Throughout its life the car has been meticulously maintained, with annual servicing carried out exclusively by the supplying dealer, Meridian Modena. Today, it has covered just 5,000 miles from new.

What makes this particular Speciale so captivating is its extraordinary specification. Finished externally, like a perfectly tailored Brioni suit, in the elegant shade of Grigio Titanio yet, open the door, however and the character changes entirely. Like the flash of an exquisite silk lining of a suit jacket, you are greeted by beautifully quilted Azzurro Santorini leather seats, a finish I have never before seen on a Speciale.

The use of blue extends thoughtfully throughout the cabin. Blu Scuro Alcantara trims the interior, including the steering wheel, which combines Alcantara and leather in matching tones. The blue brake calipers and NART racing stripe tie the whole specification together with remarkable cohesion. It is a specification that manages to feel both daring and sophisticated and one that perfectly suits the character of the car.

As you would expect from an example where budget was clearly no consideration, the car was specified with an extensive list of desirable options, including the full suite of carbon fibre components, front suspension lift, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera and integrated audio. In total, the optional extras amounted to more than £44,000.
